What We Do

We're the City of Troy Democratic Committee. We recruit candidates, run campaigns, turn out voters, and hold elected officials accountable across all six council districts.

Our council members hold the City Council majority and have delivered: tenant protections under Good Cause Eviction, investment in water and sewer infrastructure, a new Lansingburgh fire station, and a city budget that ended FY 2025 with surpluses in every operating fund.

We meet regularly and we're always looking for people who want to do more than watch from the sidelines. If you live in Troy and you care about who runs this city, there's a role for you here.

Our Commitments

  • Elect Democrats from City Council to Congress
  • Keep Democratic candidates on the ballot in all six districts
  • Increase voter registration and turnout in every neighborhood
  • Protect tenants, fund infrastructure, and support good jobs for Troy families
  • Hold the administration accountable to the people who live here
  • Build lasting relationships with community organizations across Troy

Our Policy Priorities

Affordability

Troy residents deserve to live, work, and raise families here without being priced out. We support policies that keep housing costs in check, protect renters from displacement, and ensure that property taxes remain fair and predictable for homeowners and small businesses alike.

Environment

Troy is home to the Hudson and Mohawk rivers and a network of neighborhoods that deserve clean, accessible green spaces. We support protecting our waterways from pollution, expanding pocket parks and green infrastructure, and ensuring that every Troy resident has safe outdoor spaces within reach of their home.

Diversity

Troy's strength is its people — a city rich in cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives. We support policies that ensure every resident has an equal voice in local government, equitable access to city services, and a community where diversity is reflected in the leaders who represent us.

Fiscal Oversight

Responsible government requires strong checks and balances on how public dollars are spent. We support transparent budgeting, independent oversight of city finances, and prompt filling of vacant city positions so that every department is staffed and accountable to the residents it serves.

Infrastructure

Troy's roads, water mains, and sidewalks are the foundation of daily life for every resident. We support sustained, equitable infrastructure investment that prioritizes the neighborhoods most in need and ensures every community has safe streets, clean water, and reliable public services.

Strong Voter Protections

Every eligible Troy resident deserves a clear and unobstructed path to the ballot. We support expanding access to early voting, protecting voter registration rolls from unlawful purges, and ensuring that polling locations are accessible, adequately staffed, and fairly distributed across all neighborhoods.
